Yea, I survived my first year! I still smile a lot, but I have added crying (no tears) to try to get my way (usually does not work). I am very independent and can play for hours by myself. I still love to read, and despite what my aunt and uncle think, I do know when a book is upside down. I am not walking yet because I crawl very fast and prefer to wait until I can walk as fast (but I do stand all the time). There is a downside, I do not eat and drink as much as my parents want me to, but I am having fun driving them up the wall. I am a great traveler as I took a plane to Phoenix (even pooped on the plane) and the long drive to Tahoe with no complaints.
