Skipper Wireless Laboratories, Inc. is a new, privately held Silicon Valley wireless broadband mesh network startup based in Mountain View, California, USA. Leveraging the unique relationship with international consumer electronics giants, it aims to merge a range of consumer mobile devices with a revolutionary patent-pending ad-hoc style network infrastructure. While still in stealth mode, the company is rapidly ramping up its product development team. Our team has a proven track record in the area of wireless communications and mobile systems.
We are seeking two experienced GSM engineers to develop an internal GSM basestation. The applicant will need to have a good working and coding knowledge of GSM Layer 3 protocols, including CC, RR and MM. A knowledge of MAP and associated systems would be advantage. The DSP position requires knowledge of the TI DSPs (‘C6201) and GSM L1 processing, including channel coding, viterbi, encryption, radio interface technologies.

Ensure system meets all ETSI GSM specifications. |

Work closely with the core OS development team to implement the GSM stack and protocols. |

Write system tests to exercise and verify software operation. |
| • |
Write software functions to exercise and test the GSM radio interface. |
The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of the following experience:

Proven record of performance while meeting aggressive schedules. |

Proven technical leadership skills. |
| • |
Extensive experience with Network and routing protocols, in particular GSM, WCDMA, 3GPP, ETSI. |

Experience with real-time protocol implementations on an embedded processor is essential, especially using C or C++ in the embedded Linux environment. |

Extensive experience in object-oriented design and development for embedded systems. Knowledge of UML. |
| • |
Working knowledge of VxWorks is a plus. |
| • |
Experience with system verification and test. |
| • |
Minimum 6 years experience in GSM Protocol and DSP processing software. |

Good communications and presentation skills and ability to work well in a team. |
